eBook Review: “Tack Sharp” by James Brandon

There’s a new ebook in town; “Tack Sharp: A Step by Step Guide to Nailing Focus” by photographer James Brandon. I read it last weekend and really enjoyed his approach.

Getting your subject in sharp focus in nearly every shot is a lot more involved than pointing the camera and pushing a button. James starts by explaining the relationship of aperture, shutter speed and ISO to sharp images, then goes through a series of advanced tips that include using your camera’s live view, manual focusing, using the AF-ON button (something I talked about in my “Killer Tips” book, but he really expands on it here), and more. If you’ve ever though you could be better at getting more of your photos sharp than you do now, this book’s for you.

Head on over to flatbooks.com to pick it up. While you’re there, if you haven’t already be sure to check out my “Killer Tips for Getting the Most out of Your Canon Camera” ebook. There are also ebooks on composition, shooting cars, and more. And most are just $9.97—a bargain!
