Sunrise on Lake Hartwell

I’ve been taking a little swim every morning here on Lake Hartwell, and occasionally take out my daugther’s Canon D10 camera [amazon.com] [my review on ThisWeekInPhoto]. If I time it just right, I’m floating in the lake surrounded by mists and watching the sun come up.

Not a shabby way to start the day.

love the pics & your travel pics. I'll be on a RT Wed for 12 or 13 days. AZ to Norther WI & back on Route 66.

In that first photo, the sun looks a bit like an ankh.

Today, I was listening to the podcast "This Week In Photography" ... heard that you were on a cross-country trip and had to come and check out your blog! I love how stories of realtime illuminate in your shots. You can almost feel the warmth of the sun on your face as I am nearly rubbing my arms because of the chilled morning air ... great imagery! Also, I enjoyed skimming through your Kenya trip. I'll definitely be back to get all the details and see more of your work.

Thanks for sharing!

These scenics shots and R66 scenics shots, did you shoot those with tripod? How often do you use tripod? Thank you.

Very rarely do I use a tripod. The lighthouse shots in Oklahoma City… Pops in the same town… sunrise in Little Rock… hmm, I think that's about it actually!

I just love the misty condensation coming off the surface in these. Beautiful!

Hey Joseph, I love Lake Hartwell. I live just south of it about 60 mile into GA. Its a beautiful lake. Great images you have here. I sure it must have been rough waiting for the smooth waters. Its a very busy lake...
